One Hurt in Redding Car Crash
A Redding car crash left one woman with injuries on Sunday, March 15, 2020. According to information reported by the Redding Police Department (RPD), the crash involved two people and happened in the middle of the day. The injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. While updates on her condition haven’t been reported, officials indicated that her life was not in danger. The crash is currently being investigated.
Crash Information
According to RPD, this accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. near the Dutch Bros Coffee House on North Market Street. A 20-year-old Redding woman was driving a 2010 Dodge sedan and heading north on North Market Street just prior to the crash. RPD stated that her vehicle failed to stop for a red light. As the vehicle entered the intersection, it collided with the driver’s side of a Kia sedan that had been turning in order to enter the Dutch Bros parking lot.
Officers say that the crash sent the Dodge onto the eastern roadway curb, where it eventually collided with an REU power pole. As a result, the pole was downed, and a signal box sustained damage. Footage taken at the accident scene shows extreme damage to the front of the Dodge.
Response
A response team was dispatched to the site right after RPD received a notification regarding the incident. When they reached the crash location, responders found the Dodge driver in her vehicle, reportedly uninjured. The driver of the Kia was discovered with significant trauma and driven to the Mercy Medical Center via ambulance. Details about her injuries have not been provided.
Investigation
RPD has stated that they have a team reviewing traffic footage in order to find out what may have caused the accident. However, officers have indicated that they suspect texting while driving may have been involved. So far, no charges have been made.
Getting Help
People who suffer crash injuries, even relatively minor ones, often experience huge consequences. Recovering from an injury can be a difficult process, and many people are left unable to work for a significant period of time due to limited mobility or cognition issues. Furthermore, the medical costs related to injury recovery can be very high.
In order to make sure that you have financial security during your recovery, it’s important to reach out to an experienced attorney in your area who can help you file an injury claim. By doing so, many accident survivors are able to claim compensation for a wide range of damages, including both economic and personal losses. Recoverable damages in an injury claim vary, and each case is different. For this reason, it’s best to get advice from a professional who can help you figure out how to make your next move.
