Redding Gas Station Crash
Redding Gas Station Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Redding Auto Accident Lawyer. A scary accident involving an intoxicated driver took place on the night of Monday, August 22, 2016 at a TA gas station on Knighton Road nearby the Interstate 5 in Redding.
What Happened?
The incident took place at approximately 11:30 pm where a woman from Redding was behind the wheel of her 1990 Honda Accord and was driving under the influence. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Hanna Magee. Magee was arguing with the truck stop employees where she drove away afterward. Magee lost control of her vehicle which caused her to come into contact with another vehicle that was pumping gas. Magee’s vehicle crashed into a man causing him to be pushed up against the gas pump. Witnesses of the crash assisted the man and he was transported to the hospital for treatment. Magee then attempted to leave the scene but ended up backing her vehicle into a man standing by which caused injuries to the man’s leg.
California Highway Patrol Reports
California Highway Patrol reports that Hanna Magee was later arrested after she crashed her Honda Accord into another car. Magee fled the scene after her vehicle was inoperable to drive away. Magee left the scene with her young son and they ran towards Riverland Drive where CHP officers and a helicopter were on the lookout for both of them. Magee and her son were observed climbing out of foliage on Riverland Drive which was approximately a quarter of a mile south of Knighton Road. CHP officers were able to capture Magee. Magee was sent to the Shasta County Jail for multiple felony charges.
