Rollover Accident Fatally Injures Winton Man
I’m Ed Smith, a Merced car accident attorney. A Winton man was driving his vehicle in a rural area of Merced County during the evening hours of Monday, March 12, 2018. The man was involved in a rollover accident. Sadly, he suffered fatal injuries.

What Happened?
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a report of an overturned vehicle along Shaffer Road in the vicinity of Palm Avenue at approximately 10:00 pm. Upon arrival, CHP officers discovered a red Honda Civic with major rollover damage. The occupants of the vehicle were not found inside of it at the scene, requiring an immediate search in the area for any potentially injured victims.
Nature of Injuries
Emergency personnel searched the area for the occupants of the Honda and reportedly found an injured man in a nearby irrigation ditch. Paramedics performed life-saving measures as an attempt to revive the man but their efforts were unfortunately unsuccessful. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officials.
Identity of Victim
The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.
What Caused the Accident?
Investigators from CHP have not yet decided an exact cause of the accident.
