Accident Causes Involving a Single Vehicle
While a rollover accident near Redding may have involved the driver speeding, falling asleep behind the wheel or other causes, an outside entity or other driver might have been responsible, such as:
- Road damage, such as potholes, soft shoulders, fissures, and pavement upheavals, can trigger a rollover accident near Redding. If a government entity responsible for road maintenance has shown negligence, parties can hold it financially accountable. Victims must file a claim against a government entity within six months, so seeking assistance from an injury lawyer is crucial.
- Defective auto parts, including brakes, steering, tires, or other components, can cause a rollover accident near Redding. Maintaining the vehicle’s integrity for inspection is essential to determine if a defective part led to the accident, in which case the manufacturer may be liable.
- Aggressive or hit-and-run drivers can also trigger an accident and leave the scene. An injury lawyer can investigate to determine if another vehicle was involved.
Pursuing Damages With a Wrongful Death Claim
A family grieving over a loved one killed by the negligence of an entity or other driver may decide to pursue a wrongful death claim to seek compensation for their loss. While no amount of money can erase their sorrow, securing financial compensation can prevent the additional burden of financial distress, particularly if the deceased was a primary earner. Possible compensation they may receive includes:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Lost earnings, bonuses, pensions, and insurance that the deceased could have provided until their expected retirement
- Compensation for the spouse’s loss of consortium, moral support, and affection
- Damages for the children for the loss of nurturing and guidance
- Reimbursement for the loss of household services, such as lawn and auto maintenance, childcare, and other duties
