Like many of you, I’m thinking it’s time to start my Roseville Galleria holiday shopping. After all, gone are the dog days of summer and the harvest festivals are about wrapped up. It’s now holiday shopping season: That infamous time between November 1st and December 25th.
For the kids, it’s just about the most exciting time of the year. And hey, some adults are just as thrilled as the kids. But for others, myself included, it is the beginning of the helladays. What exactly do I mean by that?
- Everyone is in a hurry to get it done quickly.
- Some of those same people are drinking while getting it done quickly.
- Shoppers want the best parking spot. Some will fight you to get it.
- Many shoppers are texting while driving through the parking lot.
- Other shoppers are texting while walking through the malls.
- Shoppers want the lowest prices.
- Some shoppers will even push and shove to get in the store first for the lowest priced items.
This is why I dread going to the mall at this time of year. I just may get mowed down in the parking lot before I even make it into the mall to shop.

Thank goodness people in my family gladly accept cash. Instead of chasing sales, I plan on spending more time with family.
Taking a little extra time to shop this holiday season will improve the holiday experience for all. Slowing down while driving through parking lots is also a good way to ensure the safety of children and their families going in and out of the mall. Finally, please do not drink and drive or text while behind the wheel of your automobiles.
