Accident at Sunrise Avenue Intersection Causes Two Critical Injuries
A Roseville intersection crash on April 27 sent six people to the hospital. The accident, according to the Roseville Police Department, involved five vehicles at the Sunrise Avenue intersection with Coloma Way around 3:00 p.m. At least one of the vehicles was completely destroyed, while another exhibited major front-end damage.
Intersection Known for Heavy Traffic
Two of the people transported to the hospital were reportedly in critical condition. The accident is being investigated to determine how it occurred and to assign fault. This area, which is near the old Spaghetti Factory, is known to have heavy traffic, which may have contributed to the intersection crash. The area was cordoned off to traffic while the accident site was cleared and the investigation conducted, which was expected to take several hours.
An Intersection Crash Is Usually Caused by Negligence
Negligence can lead to an intersection crash in a number of ways, and most accidents are caused for one of the following reasons:
- Speeding
- Distracted driving
- Drunk driving
- Fatigue
- Reckless driving
- Failure to yield
- Wrong-way driving
- Auto defects
- Changing lanes unsafely
- Government negligence
- Not taking weather conditions into account
How We Determine Liability in an Intersection Crash
During a collision that involves multiple vehicles, it is possible for a car to be struck more than once, and it is also likely for multiple drivers to be at fault. Fortunately, an injury attorney can assist you when such a situation occurs. We get busy gathering the evidence needed to support a client’s claim to recover damages. We conduct an investigation to identify which driver(s) were negligent. Our investigation includes:
- To gather the evidence before it is wiped away or covered up when traffic restarts, our investigators travel to the site of the accident.
- An examination of the police report is conducted to find out if evidence of negligence was found.
- To determine if video of the multi-vehicle collision was captured, traffic cameras are checked in the area.
- Taking photographs at the intersection crash scene, especially marks and paint smears on the vehicles, can help them determine which vehicle(s) struck the client’s car.
- The witnesses to the crash are interviewed so investigators can identify how one vehicle struck another and in what order they hit each other.
- It is possible to reconstruct an accident by showing the initial position of each vehicle, how it became involved in the collision and where it ended up.
Once our injury lawyers have obtained the evidence, they put it together to create a strong case on behalf of our clients.
Insurance Companies and Injury Accident Claims
Paying claims is not something that insurance companies like to do. It goes without saying that their main focus is on making money. In cases where injuries occur, initial settlement offers may be low. Thus, the injured party doesn’t have the option to claim later that the insurer didn’t pay enough to cover their expenses. It is important to have an injury lawyer handle your claim to ensure that you receive what you are entitled to.
