Exit Ramp Accident off US 50 Causes Two Vehicles to Fly Off the Road
A run-off-road accident in Rancho Cordova on January 3 caused a major injury after several vehicles collided on an off-ramp. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash occurred around 6:19 p.m along eastbound US 50 on the Sunrise Boulevard exit ramp. When two sedans collided on the exit ramp, both vehicles exited the road and ended up 50 to 70 feet off the roadway.
One Person Transported to Hospital With Major Injuries in Run-Off-Road Accident
The fire department blocked the left lane on the exit ramp in the cloverleaf to allow responders to reach those involved in the crash and remove the vehicles. One party involved in the run-off-road accident was transported by first responders with the Sacramento Fire Department to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with what were described as major injuries. An investigation into the cause of the off-ramp accident is being conducted by the CHP to find out how it happened.
