Sacramento Aggressive Drivers
Sacramento aggressive drivers may be a problem, according to data compiled by GasBuddy. The company used its Drives feature to look at 30 U.S. metropolitan areas and discovered that four cities in California ranked among the top 10 for problems with aggressive driving. Sacramento was listed as the third city in the nation for aggressive drivers. Los Angeles took the number one spot, while San Francisco came in fifth and the sixth place was taken by San Diego.
Other Cities on the List
Philadelphia came in second on the list of cities with the most aggressive drivers, while Atlanta was number four. Numbers seven through 10 were Orlando, Florida, Detroit, Michigan, Austin, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In the three top cities listed by GasBuddy, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Sacramento aggressive drivers were found to have a rate that was 21 percent higher than the U.S. average.
The Cost of Aggressive Driving
According to GasBuddy, driving aggressively can contribute to lowering gas mileage up to 40 percent. This means that drivers who are aggressive can end up paying an additional $477 each year in fuel. The most common driving habit that could be considered aggressive is hard braking.
Aggressive Drivers
Sacramento aggressive drivers, like those in other areas, exhibit a lack of care for others sharing the roadway. Some actions by aggressive drivers include:
- Tailgating
- Weaving in and out of traffic
- Running red lights or stop signs
- Not yielding the right of way
- Speeding when traffic is heavy
- Blocking other vehicles whose drivers are trying to change lanes or pass
- Cutting another driver off and then slowing down to irritate them
- Braking to annoy the driver behind
- Using their bright lights as a way to potentially blind an oncoming driver
Dealing With an Aggressive Driver
