Fleeing Drivers and How We Help Clients
Our past investigations have proven successful in locating several hit-and-run drivers in Sacramento. Obtaining evidence in a fatal pedestrian accident is crucial to hold responsible drivers accountable for their actions. We employ a team of investigators and utilize various resources to achieve this objective. Our accident investigation encompasses the following areas:
- Gathering Accident Scene Evidence: We collect physical evidence from the accident scene, including paint and metal fragments from the vehicle, which help identify the vehicle’s make and model.
- Witness Interviews: During the interview phase, we thoroughly question witnesses. It’s possible that a witness can provide valuable information identifying both the vehicle and the driver. Additionally, there may be witnesses who have captured the accident on video.
- Police Report Examination: We meticulously review the report to ensure its accuracy and completeness, as it plays a vital role in the investigation.
- Utilizing Accident Reconstruction and Video Footage: We employ accident reconstruction techniques and review surveillance footage to understand the incident comprehensively.
Our commitment to these investigative methods increases the likelihood of identifying and holding hit-and-run drivers accountable for their actions in Sacramento.
Fleeing Drivers and Compensation for Accidents
Even when the driver is located, it’s possible that their insurance may not cover the injury claim. We assist our clients in such cases by utilizing their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. According to California’s auto insurance laws, all drivers can access uninsured/underinsured coverage. In the unfortunate event of a wrongful death, the deceased person’s policy or the uninsured coverage of an immediate family member can also be utilized. Additionally, if the injured party lacks this coverage but a family member has it, they can still use it. It’s important to note that these actions do not result in any changes to the insurance rates.
Wrongful Death Recoverable Damages
In California, wrongful death lawsuits offer the opportunity to seek compensation for a range of damages, which may include:
- Reimbursement for funeral and burial expenses.
- Recovery of the deceased’s lost wages, pensions, and insurance benefits.
- The ability to make a claim for the loss of guidance, advice, love, protection, and moral support resulting from losing a loved one.
- The surviving spouse’s ability to claim compensation for loss of consortium.
- Reimbursement for the value of household services provided by the deceased.
