Sacramento Major Injury Crash Involves Two Separate Incidents
Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) initially reported the accident as a five-vehicle collision. It was later determined there were two accidents that occurred at the same time. One involved two vehicles, and the other three. They discovered three vehicles along the right-hand side of the highway. The other two were blocking lane number three.
One Person Transported to Hospital Following Collision
Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department were called to the accident scene to evaluate injuries, including to a woman who struck her head and asked for medical care. An investigation by CHP traffic crash detectives will determine how the collisions occurred and assign fault.
Why You Need an Injury Lawyer Following an Accident Involving Multiple Vehicles
When a Sacramento major injury crash happens that involves multiple vehicles, more than one driver is generally at fault. Trauma in these accidents is often significant because a vehicle can be struck more than once from different directions. By using the services of an accident lawyer, the injured person can hold all of those drivers who were negligent. Some of the types of negligence in these accidents include:
- Distracted driving
- Speeding
- Tailgating
- Impairment
- Fatigue
Is It Worthwhile to File a Personal Injury Claim?
Many people who experience a Sacramento major injury crash end up hospitalized, with rising medical bills, the pain and suffering caused by their trauma, and lost wages. By holding the negligent person responsible for your injuries, you can avoid financial distress and hold them accountable. Compensation that you can recover following an accident injury includes the following:
- Medical expenses that you incurred because of your accident are recoverable, including hospital fees, physician bills, tests, treatments, surgeries and rehabilitation afterward. If your injury is still ongoing at settlement time, those are included.
- Wages lost due to inability to work are recoverable. In addition to lost wages, you can recover compensation for job perks such as tips, bonuses, pensions and insurance benefits.
- Compensation for your pain and suffering is for the physical and emotional trauma the accident caused you.
