Sacramento Rollover Crash Fatally Injures Three
I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento wrongful death lawyer. A rollover crash took place along Highway 160 in Sacramento during the evening hours of Sunday, April 30, 2017. Sadly, the collision fatally injured the three occupants riding in the vehicle.
What Happened?
A Ford Explorer was traveling northbound along Highway 160 in the vicinity of Northgate Boulevard at approximately 7:32 pm. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the Ford. The vehicle veered off the roadway, rolled upside-down and crashed into a tree in a ravine along the shoulder of the highway near the offramp for Del Paso Boulevard. The impact of the collision caused the Ford to wrap around the tree, which caused the vehicle to sustain severe body damage.
Two men and a woman were traveling in the Ford at the time of the crash. Unfortunately, the three victims suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

What Caused the Crash?
It is still too soon to determine what caused the rollover crash. Authorities suspect that the collision may have been a result of excessive speed and reckless driving. However, it is still not yet known what events led up to the fatal accident.
How to Avoid Rollover Crashes
Rollover crashes are unpredictable and many may not know how to avoid them. If you are traveling in a taller and narrower vehicle such as a pickup, sport utility vehicle (SUV) or van, it is best to exercise additional caution when driving. These types of vehicles are susceptible to rollover accidents due to their high center of gravity and narrow base. The reason being that the vehicle will exert more force when turning resulting in reduced stability. It is best to reduce your speed when you are driving around bends or conducting turns along the roadway to ensure the safety of yourself and your loved ones traveling in your vehicle.
