Jeep and Two Other Vehicles Involved in Traffic Collision

A traffic collision in Sacramento on November 12 caused injuries to at least one person. The crash occurred on westbound Jackson Road just east of Bradshaw Road around 4:02 in the afternoon. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) accident report, it involved a Jeep Liberty, Toyota 2-door and a Toyota Tacoma pickup.

Additional Details of Traffic Collision

Two lanes of Jackson Road briefly caused traffic congestion as motorists attempted to pass the vehicles involved in the accident. One individual reportedly struck her head and was assessed by first responders with the Sacramento Fire Department. However, she refused an ambulance.

A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the Toyota pickup. The roadway was cleared for passing traffic about 20 minutes later. The CHP is investigating to find out what caused the traffic collision.

Traffic Accidents

Being in a traffic collision is a frightening experience filled with pain and worry. People wonder how they will pay for their medical bills, what will happen if they cannot work and how they will prove the other party was at fault. If you are badly injured, taking appropriate action might be difficult as you try to get your life back on track and heal. That is why it is helpful to talk to an injury lawyer as soon as possible. Don’t let yourself be taken advantage of and fail to get the compensation you deserve.

Traffic Collision Statistics

According to the Insurance Information Institute, 36,096 people were killed in 2019. This total represents a 2 percent drop in the number of fatalities for passenger vehicles. However, SUV fatalities rose by 2 percent in the same period.

Reasons Why a Traffic Collision Occurs

Several of the most common reasons a traffic collision occurs are:

  • Distracted driving: This is the number one reason for traffic collisions today. Drivers often focus on things other than the road, such as texting, talking on a cell phone, eating, and tuning the radio. This lack of concentration leads to rear-end accidents and other types of traffic crashes.
  • Speeding: Traveling at a higher rate of speed than the law and conditions allow can make a driver lose control of his or her vehicle. It also prevents the driver from stopping in time to avoid an accident.
  • Impaired driving: Driving while under the influence of mind-altering drugs causes many accidents.
  • Poor road conditions: In addition to inclement weather, driving on roads that are not maintained can cause a traffic collision. Potholes, uneven pavement and poor maintenance of foliage and traffic signs or signals all contribute to accidents. If this is the reason for a traffic collision, the injured party can file a claim against the government entity in charge. Your injury lawyer will be able to file the claim in an appropriate manner since it differs from other claims. Failure to file within the deadline, for instance, can render the claim unhearable.

Investigating a Traffic Collision

Evidence is a big part of a successful claim. We send our experienced investigators to the crash site to interview witnesses, obtain video footage of the crash from several sources, and check police reports for mistakes. After performing accident reconstruction to determine liability, the investigators send the gathered data to our lawyers to build a robust case for our clients.
