San Francisco Resident Killed During Berryessa Motorcycle Collision
On Saturday, July 4, 2020, a San Francisco resident passed away during a collision that took place in Napa County. The decedent has since been identified by sheriff’s department officials as a 25-year-old man. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision only involved one vehicle, a motorcycle, and happened on a rural road near Lake Berryessa. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Crash Information
The crash happened at about 11:16 a.m. on Berryessa Knoxville Road near the intersection of Berryessa Drive. CHP reported that, for reasons that remain unknown, the man lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a metal guardrail on the western side of the road. The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle during the accident.
Responders arrived at the crash scene shortly after the incident was called into CHP dispatch. Emergency staff responding to the collision discovered the motorcyclist was critically injured and he was tragically pronounced deceased at 11:36 a.m., according to Napa Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Henry Wofford.
Investigation
The road was shut down in both directions after the accident while officials conducted response and preliminary crash site investigations. As CHP continues to investigate, no suspected crash factors have been reported so far. Collisions like this one commonly involve non-driver accident factors like defective motorcycle parts or serious issues with the road.
Accidents with no survivors can be incredibly hard for police to investigate because they are unable to interview involved parties about what happened. This means that investigators may overlook key evidence that could have a huge impact on a wrongful death case. To make sure your family receives compensation from at-fault parties, it’s vital to make sure that you contact a Napa wrongful death lawyer and have them privately investigate the accident.
Wrongful Death
Losing somebody that you care about can be very hard and families often feel overwhelmed following fatal accidents. The process of grieving can make it difficult to keep up with the demands of your normal life, and it’s important for people to take the time they need to emotionally heal and focus on coping.
However, it is often difficult or even impossible to focus on the grieving process if the accident has caused your family financial issues. A sudden accident can leave families with medical bills for treatment rendered before their loved one passed. Furthermore, a death in your family can also mean losing an income source or access to important household services.
To make sure that your family is able to have financial security after suffering such a tragic loss, it’s vital to call a trustworthy attorney who can help you pursue a wrongful death case and recover compensation for your damages. Learn more about recoverable damages by watching this video:
