Second CAntioch Child Car Accidenthild Passed Away in Tragic Antioch Accident

A 23-year-old male from Pittsburg was arrested for his involvement in a stolen vehicle that collided with another car occupying two children and their mother. The suspect, identified as Noe Saucedo, is now being held with two charges of murder as of Monday, January 22, 2018. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cardoza family and anyone else who may be impacted by this devastating tragedy.

Two Charges of Murder and Two Beautiful Lives Lost

In a tragic twist of events, it has been revealed that Saucedo is distantly related to the two young girls who died in this motor vehicle accident, according to members of his family. Up until Monday, January 22, Saucedo was being held with one charge of murder for the death of 4-year-old Lenexy Cardoza – as she passed away on the same day of the car crash. The other child, a 2-year-old named Camila Cardoza, had been hooked on life-support since the accident took place on Wednesday, January 17. Unfortunately, Camila succumbed to her injuries over the weekend as her family made the decision to take her off life-support. The mother of the two girls, Edith Cardoza, was hospitalized immediately for her severe injuries but was released after successful surgical operations.

Saucedo made a court appearance on Monday, although his arraignment hearing was officially postponed till January 29. He declined to enter a plea deal. Additionally, he is facing charges of driving a stolen motor vehicle as well as fleeing from a police officer. His current bail is posted at approximately 2.135 million dollars.

Turning Loss into Something New

Over the weekend, more than 100 people joined the Cardoza family in their home to collectively pray for the two sisters. The Cardoza family made a statement to inform the public that after doctors declared Camila to be brain dead, they made the decision to temporarily keep her alive so her organs could be donated. Her organs will be distributed to four different children, turning a tragic event into one of new beginnings.

As their entire family prepared for two funerals, they are deeply appreciative of all the community love and support they have received. To raise money that will go to the costly funeral expenses, they have created a GoFundMe page where they are accepting donations.
