Serious Collision Injures Two in Natomas
A serious collision that injured two people on October 13 occurred on a Natomas intersection. The accident happened when Victoria Bryant was driving on Natomas Boulevard close to Club Center Drive, and her vehicle was T-boned by another driver in a high-speed impact collision. The impact of the crash was so violent that Sacramento Fire Department firefighters had to use equipment to free the woman from her car. It was initially thought by medical personnel at UC Davis Medical Center that Bryant would not survive her injuries. However, Bryant is in the hospital’s ICU. The other person in the crash suffered major injuries and was listed in serious condition.
About the Crash
Anthony Bryant, the injured woman’s husband, said she had gone out to run an errand at CVS pharmacy, which is just a short distance from their home. When more than 45 minutes had passed, he was curious as to why his wife had not returned home. The serious collision occurred at around 5:15 in the afternoon. By checking Life360, an app he used on his cellphone, he saw that her location was still listed as being near the pharmacy. That was when he got in his car and drove down there. He said he saw his car, the police, and tape that was put out around the accident site. An officer at the scene told him about the accident and that his wife had been injured.
The husband said his wife was not yet out of the woods but that she was a fighter. His wife works at Regency Park Elementary School as a counselor. There is a GoFundMe site set up to help the family out with expenses.
Temporary Measures Set Up to Prevent Accidents
Seven rotating signs have been placed in various areas around Natomas. These are temporary measures used in places where many complaints are called in about speeding and vehicle crashes. The one where Bryant was injured in a serious collision was put into place two days after the accident. The accident is still under investigation by local police, and no arrests have been announced yet.
Dangerous Intersections
Intersection danger can be due to a variety of reasons. One is related to the intersection’s design or failure to take adequate precautions. Poorly designed intersections can be confusing for motorists and lead to accidents. This is the fault of the government agency and contractors in charge of creating the intersection. Without careful attention to traffic flow, the intersection becomes dangerous and oftentimes deadly to travel. The installation of signals to control traffic, allowing for both vehicles and pedestrians to use the intersection safely is essential. If an accident happens due to this, the injured party can place a claim against the government entity as well as the contractor.
What an Attorney Can Do to Help
Your attorney should be a champion of your rights after a serious collision. At our firm, we take that obligation seriously. We send our investigative team to the accident site to scour the area for evidence. This is obtained by using accident reconstruction techniques and obtaining video footage of the accident from traffic surveillance cameras commonly placed in intersections. We also interview witnesses and review police reports for inaccuracies. In addition, we speak to our client’s doctors as to their medical status, prognosis, and the need for medical care in the future. Once this step is finalized, we turn the data over to our lawyers, who use it to build a strong case for our client.
