State Route 29 Site of Serious Pedestrian Accident
A serious pedestrian accident was reported in Middletown, southeast of Lakeport on December 1 when at least one person was struck by a vehicle. The collision happened on State Route 29 at Central Park Road around 6:18 p.m. According to the accident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), they received a call from a woman in a vehicle accompanied by her minor child, who believed she had struck something in the roadway.
Driver Reported Hitting an Unknown Object in Serious Pedestrian Accident
When they arrived at the scene, officers discovered at least one person in the roadway who was seriously injured. The road was also strewn with debris, and a vehicle license plate was found. The female driver initially didn’t think she had hit a person but came to realize that she indeed did, according to the incident report.
Weather Conditions Interfere With Medical Export of Injured Pedestrian
Air ops was unable to arrive at the scene due to the weather. From the report, it is uncertain whether one or two pedestrians were involved in the crash. It is known that one of the pedestrians was a male.
Another Pedestrian May Have Also Suffered Injuries in Accident
An additional injured female pedestrian may have been involved, but the accident report was not updated. No additional information was provided. An investigation is underway by CHP traffic accident officers to determine what happened.
