Accident at Jefferson Street Intersection Results in Critical Injuries
An intersection accident in north Napa caused critical pedestrian injuries recently. The accident happened at the Jefferson Street intersection with El Capitan Way around 3:56 p.m. Officers with the Napa Police Department arrived at the scene to discover an injured woman, age 61, had been struck by a BMW X5.
Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision With Motor Vehicle
The injured pedestrian was transported for treatment to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Southbound Jefferson Street was shut down in the area as well as a portion of El Capital as an investigation was conducted into the accident by authorities. The woman who was driving the BMW remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation into the incident.
Investigation Conducted Into Accident Resulting in Serious Pedestrian Injuries
It appeared from the investigation that the injured pedestrian had been walking northbound along Jefferson, while the driver was going east along El Capitan. Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash. Napa police are seeking video footage and witnesses to the accident.
