Solano Driver Survives Dangerous Rollover

A Solano driver survived a serious rollover accident that took place just outside of Dixon on Monday, April 27, 2020. The car accident reportedly involved one vehicle and happened in the afternoon on a rural road. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the driver suffered injuries during the crash, but was expected to recover from his trauma. The cause of this accident remains under California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigation.

Crash Information

The collision happened on Pedrick Road near the intersection of Binghampton Road. A man had been driving a black four-door sedan along Pedrick when, for undetermined reasons, the vehicle overturned. As the car rolled, it collided with two separate high voltage power lines and finally came to a rest on its roof next to a nearby canal. Photos taken at the scene of the crash show major damage to the vehicle.

According to reports from CHP, the driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle by the time responders reached the crash location. Medical responders determined that the driver had suffered injuries. Whether or not he was hospitalized has not been reported. Police indicated that, had he not been wearing a seat belt, the driver would have suffered much more serious trauma.

Investigation

As investigating officers look into this crash, there haven’t been any reports regarding suspected factors. Single-vehicle crashes can be caused by many different factors and many of these causes aren’t things that drivers have the ability to control. Non-driver factors that are commonly involved in single-vehicle crashes include malfunctioning car parts like accelerators or steering systems as well as roadway issues like large potholes or low visibility.

Rollover Collisions and Liability

Being in a rollover crash is especially dangerous. According to government statistics, rollovers are one of the most dangerous types of car accidents and cause a disproportionately high number of accidents and frequently result in serious or fatal trauma. While these accidents are dangerous for a few different reasons, one critical factor is weak vehicle roofs.

If a car’s roof can’t withstand an impact, it will often crush during a rollover, leaving the people inside the vehicle with injuries that could have otherwise been avoided. In these cases, the manufacturer of the vehicle is often considered an at-fault party to the accident and can be held liable for damages that were suffered a result of the crash. It is imperative that the you preserve the rollover vehicle as evidence. Your attorney will need to have an expert inspect the roof.

Should I Call an Attorney?

Being injured can seriously affect your life and many crash survivors are left with steep medical bills and may not be able to work for a period of time. In order to pay for these losses, it’s often possible to hold at-fault parties financially responsible. Even if you are unsure of whether or not your case is right for an injury claim, it’s always a good idea to reach out to an attorney who can give you advice about your situation.
