Highway 59 Accident Fatality Reported
A solo vehicle accident close to El Nido claimed the life of a paramedic with Riggs Ambulance Service on May 7. The deceased man was identified by a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer as Marc Trujillo, a 24-year-old resident of Merced. A GoFundMe site has been set up to help the Trujillo family in their time of need and loss.
Details About the Solo Vehicle Accident
The accident occurred along Highway 59 near Furtado road, close to El Nido, around 3:40 in the morning. Trujillo was in a Nissan Frontier heading southbound. This is when his vehicle exited the roadway, went out of control, and crashed into a power pole. Authorities reported that he died at the accident scene. Because live wires landed on the pickup, it prevented the emergency responders from removing him from his vehicle right away.
Ambulance Service Paramedics Express Their Sympathy
Paramedics at the Riggs Ambulance Service released a statement expressing their sympathy. They offered their condolences to the family and Trujillo’s friends and coworkers during the difficult time. In addition, they thanked him for his service.
Losing a Loved One
It is bad enough to lose a loved one, but an unexpected, accidental death is devastating. The family grapples with the loss in a variety of ways, including grief and a need for justice. For some families, financial difficulties also exist due to the high cost of funeral and burial services and the loss of support the decedent provided.
The compassionate, experienced staff and lawyers at AutoAccident.com are there to help. Many of us have faced this tragedy in our own lives, and we work hard to help our clients as they move through this devastating time.
How an Attorney Can Help
While nothing we can do will replace the love, support and kindness that was taken from you, we can help in other ways. If the accident was caused by negligence, we are able to file a wrongful death claim to help financially. The wrongful death claim will also give the family a sense of closure and justice.
Solo Vehicle Accident
Many think that just because a single vehicle was involved in the crash, that liability is non-existent. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our investigators have found manufacturing defects that led to solo vehicle accidents as they examined the car for faults.
They’ve also uncovered times when a hit-and-run driver caused the accident and left the scene unnoticed by witnesses. Sometimes, governmental agencies responsible for road maintenance failed to do their job, and a claim against the city was filed. Our investigators never assume they know why a solo vehicle accident occurred. They use their skill to determine the reason.
Conducting an Investigation After an Accident
The collection of evidence is necessary following an accident injury or fatality to prove how negligence by another person or entity was the cause. Some of the areas of evidence collection include:
- Our investigative team examines the police report for errors because it could affect the ability to place a claim.
- Accident reconstruction is performed.
- Witnesses to the solo vehicle accident are interviewed. A witness may also have filmed the accident on their phone.
- Area surveillance cameras are checked to see if the solo vehicle accident was captured on tape. This provides compelling evidence, which is used both by the insurance company and in court.
When the evidence is compiled, it is given over to our injury attorneys. They use it to build a strong case that supports our client’s claim.
