Events this weekend:
Haunted House:
Where: Douglas County Fairgrounds
When: Next 3 weekends. October 13/14, 20/21, 27/28, 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.
This haunted house is held by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and is the perfect Halloween activity for all ages. Come early (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.) with your small children for the “not so scary” haunting. Then get ready to be scared with the “main event” 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
Meyers Gear Swap:
Where: Westgate Center Parking Lot next to the Divided Sky (3170 US Hwy 50 Meyers)
When: October 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This swap is held by the Meyers Community Foundation and is a great place to find amazing outdoor gear for great prices. Climbing, camping, snow gear, bikes, and other outdoor toys will be available. All equipment will be no older than 5 years to ensure the safety and quality of the items. To sell your own gently used gear be there between 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. for merchandise registration. 20% of proceeds will be donated to the Meyers Community Foundation.

Golf Classic:
Where: Edgewood Tahoe, 100 LAKE PARKWAY
When: October 16
There are still a few slots open for the 24th annual Golf Classic held by The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. Come out on the last day of the season and enjoy goodie bags, prizes, a silent auction and more. The prizes range from gift cards to a $10,000 prize for a hole-in-one. This is the main fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club; they have the goal to raise over $60,000 to help fund future programs and activities.
Level Up Workshop: Sales Secrets:
Where: Tahoe Chamber conference room, 169 Highway 50
When: October 18, 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
This workshop will help you increase your sales skills and allow you to make a much higher revenue. Expert facilitators will be presenting, including Steve Woods, the Director of Sales at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel and Shannon McIsaac a Hospitality Sales Consultant. This series will present the newest business resources as well as hot topics the business community needs to be aware of.
Artsy Fartsy Movie Night:
Where: South Tahoe High School, 1735 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
When: October 19, 6:30 p.m. (every Thursday)
If you love a great film with friends and family then this will be the perfect place for you. The first movie screening to kick off this event will be “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou,” an adventurous comedy starring Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and Anjelica Huston. Zissou rallies a crew to get revenge on a legendary shark that killed his partner. Don’t miss this free event every Thursday until Jun 21.
