South Sacramento: Hit and Run Fatality

Hit and Run Fatality

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the 3900 block of Mack Road and Archean Way, a tragic hit-and-run fatality occurred.

What Happened?

Witnesses who spoke with officers of the Sacramento Police Department said they saw a man on the road when he was hit by a car. The driver of that car left the scene. Tragically, the victim was hit again by a second vehicle. Thankfully, the driver of that car obeyed the law and stopped at the scene to wait for the police.

Why would the first car in this hit-and-run fatality fail to stop?

There are many reasons he or she might have failed to stop. Fear is a big one. Especially if the driver was under the influence of drugs and or alcohol. The driver may have been driving without a valid license or an uninsured motorist. Or perhaps the driver was distracted.
