South Sacramento Pedestrian Fatality
South Sacramento Pedestrian Fatality
I’m Ed Smith, a South Sacramento personal injury lawyer. Pedestrian accidents are tragic enough without finding out that the victim was left alone at the scene without the motorist stopping to help the victim. Sadly, the victim died from injuries he received on the evening of Saturday, April 9, 2016.
What Happened?
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a call about 10:06 p.m. indicating a South Sacramento hit-and-run had occurred in the vicinity of 47th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. When they arrived on scene they found a pedestrian down. Unfortunately, the victim, Washington Thrower, 68, of Sacramento was pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento fire employees.
Did Anyone Witness the South Sacramento Pedestrian Fatality?
CHP said one person reported seeing a gray or silver colored Lexus traveling eastbound on 47th Avenue after the collision. More information is needed to bring the negligent driver to justice. Hopefully someone out there remembers something and will come forward.
The victim’s son resides in the Bay Area and is a firefighter. He is confident that investigators will work hard to bring the individual who struck his father will be brought to justice.
