Southbound Highway 5 Regrinding
Yesterday we told you about the Southbound Highway 5 Closure at Seamus Road in Sacramento. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) was out there conducting skid testing after a series of big accidents which we also told you about. A tragic fatality accident occurred along this stretch of highway.
What did the skid testing reveal?
Caltrans says they cannot go into the details of the test results. However, they did divulge that the results of the skid testing were not the results they were looking for.
Is Southbound Highway 5 Safe or Not?
It appears the actions of Caltrans may speak louder than their words. Because, as early as this Sunday, Southbound Highway 5 regrinding will begin.
Do you think you have a road defect claim?
Police investigations and insurance adjusters rarely take into account that a road design defect or other type of obstruction could play a role in causing serious accidents that lead to devastating personal injuries and/or fatalities. That is why it is extremely important to consult right away with a Sacramento car accident attorney experienced in the law that governs dangerous road and highway conditions and their design defects.
It is imperative that an inspection of the highway and area be performed immediately after the accident. Evidence must be preserved to determine whether a design defect, poor maintenance, and/or dangerous road conditions were at fault. Southbound Highway 5 regrinding, for example, will remove such evidence.
