St. Helena Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Auto Accident

On Friday, September 18, 2020, a St. Helena man was left with serious injuries as the result of an area car accident. According to official reports from Napa area California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred on Highway 128 in the late evening and involved only one passenger vehicle. The cause of the accident is currently under an active CHP investigation.

Crash Information

The 27-year-old St. Helena resident was driving his 1998 Toyota sedan on Highway 128 in the area of Lower Chiles Valley Road at around 7:20 p.m. At this time, his vehicle began to drift to the left for unknown reasons. The Toyota eventually crossed over the double yellow median and finally drove off-road, striking a dirt embankment on the side of the highway.

Response officials reaching the accident site found the man inside of his vehicle, wearing his seat belt. Medical responders determined that he had been severely injured during the crash and called for a helicopter ambulance. The helicopter flew the injured man to the Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville so that he could receive emergency medical treatment.

Investigation

As CHP continues investigating this accident, officers haven’t indicated what could have caused it. Additionally, police say that they have questioned the driver regarding the incident but that the driver reports he cannot recall what occurred prior to the accident.

Even in cases that only involve one vehicle, there can be multiple collision factors. Furthermore, many common collision factors have nothing to do with drivers. These non-driver car accident factors frequently include things such as driving on dangerous roads or vehicles with malfunctioning or defective parts.

Accident Injuries

Suffering injuries during accidents can have a huge impact on your life. People who survive car accidents often face a long, painful road to regaining their health and the recovery process can take years. In the most severe cases, injured crash survivors are left with symptoms that never go away like chronic pain or issues with mobility. Not only is dealing with recovery difficult, but it can be expensive as well, leaving some survivors worried over how they will be able to move forward with their lives.

Calling a Lawyer

While the issues described above are very serious, crash survivors can take action in order to claim compensation for their losses. By filing injury claims, it’s commonly possible to hold negligent parties and/or insurers responsible for your medical expenses, income loss, damaged vehicle, and more. However, injury claims, especially ones involving major trauma, can be complicated and at-fault parties often try to do everything they can to avoid paying. Because of this, it’s critical to have help from an experienced attorney.
