Stockton Crash Fatally Injures Three

I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton wrongful death lawyer. Three people were traveling together by car east of Stockton during the morning hours of Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Unfortunately, the three vehicle occupants were involved in a crash which caused them to suffer fatal injuries.

What Happened?

A male driver was driving his 2002 black Honda Accord northbound along Jack Tone Road in the vicinity of Copperopolis Road at approximately 1:45 am. For unknown reasons, the man allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway to the east. The car drove over an irrigation ditch and collided with a large walnut tree. The impact of the collision caused the man’s vehicle to be severed into two large pieces. The second half of the vehicle propelled approximately 30 to 40 feet before coming to a stop and catching fire.

Were They Injured?

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the car accident, it was unfortunately too late. The man along with his two passengers were pronounced deceased at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released due to pending notification of next-of-kin.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family members of the three victims that passed away in this tragic car accident.

What Caused the Crash?

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) have not yet announced an exact cause of the car accident. It usually takes authorities up to two weeks to process a Traffic Collision Report. However, authorities suspect that speed may have played a role in the collision. Investigators also indicated that they discovered scattered vehicle parts, clothing and papers at the crash scene. A crushed beer can was among the other items found at the scene, however, CHP have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the car accident.

Similar Crash in Stockton

A similar car crash took place in Stockton on March 11, 2017. Two seniors that were students at McNair High School were driving back home to Stockton after a birthday celebration. The motorist was driving a 2014 Chevrolet southbound along Interstate 5 near Hammer Lane. The driver of the vehicle allegedly allowed his vehicle to drift off the roadway and collide with a tree. The force from the collision caused the passenger side of the vehicle to sever. The passenger was ejected out of the vehicle due to the crash. Sadly, the passenger passed away at the scene.
