A man from Stockton was badly hurt after a hit-and-run crash while riding his motorcycle on the California Delta Highway in San Joaquin County. He was riding his bike on State Route 4 between Discovery Bay and Stockton when he was involved in the crash.

A dashcam video sent to the injured biker caught a driver of a red Toyota pickup truck making an unsafe maneuver in an attempt to overtake slower traffic. While doing so, the truck collided head-on with the Stockton man riding his motorcycle. The impact of the collision reportedly smashed the biker’s right foot, caused him to lose balance, and land in a ditch of approximately 20 feet.
The dashcam video also showed the Toyota driver returning into their lane and traveling on SR-4, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind, who was later found face down in a ditch by two good Samaritans. He was transported via air ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of a broken foot. He was on his way to visit his parents for dinner at the time of the crash but ended up being hospitalized with about 15 screws inserted into his right foot.
The injured motorcyclist indicated that he would like the driver responsible for the hit and run accident to face charges. A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said an investigation is underway for this motorcycle accident.
