Importance of Independent Investigations
It is essential to have an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer conduct an independent investigation–especially when one of the victims has passed away and cannot give their own version of what happened.
Experienced Motorcycle Accident Attorneys Know What to Do
An experienced attorney will look for video cameras that may have captured the crash. An attorney will also use experts to reconstruct the scene to properly determine speed and other unique variables.
An attorney will also canvas the area for witnesses and take their statements to get more than just one side of the story.
A reasonable attorney will also preserve evidence from the crash and take extensive photographs of the vehicles, roadway, motorcycle, helmet, clothing, etc. These items are evidence and should be preserved (not repaired or otherwise disposed of).
The above steps are taken to prove liability (fault) and protect the rights of those seriously injured or fatally wounded in motorcycle accidents.
A thorough investigation is the best way to build the most robust case.
Was the Driver of the Sedan Injured?
No. The driver of the sedan, a 70-year-old, was not injured in the crash. The driver stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with the investigation.
