SUV Overturns Near Fresno Airport

I’m Ed Smith, a Fresno car accident lawyer. Three men were traveling in an SUV outside of a Fresno airport during the early morning hours of Thursday, September 21, 2017. The SUV lost control and flipped, resulting in a serious collision. Two parties inside the SUV, unfortunately, suffered traumatic injuries resulting from the crash.

What Happened?

A red SUV was traveling northbound along Clovis Avenue in the vicinity of McKinley Avenue at approximately 3:30 am. For unknown reasons, the motorist of the SUV lost control. The SUV veered over the center median and overturned. The vehicle came to a rest on its side within proximity of the perimeter fence surrounding the Yosemite International Airport of Fresno.

Was Anybody Injured?

Authorities stated one man suffered injuries and another man was unconscious but breathing. It is not yet known whether the injured parties were hospitalized.

What Caused the Accident?

The cause of the rollover accident has not yet been determined due to pending investigation. A Traffic Collision Report is generally processed within one to two weeks from the date of the incident. However, officials reported that a third man was held behind to conduct a sobriety test. Police did not indicate that alcohol was a factor in the rollover accident.

SUV Rollover Injuries

Older SUVs and 15-passenger vans are prone to rollover accidents due to their relatively narrow wheelbase and higher center of gravity. These accidents tend to be the most fatal type of crash.
