Three Injured After Helicopter Crash in San Andreas

Three people were injured after a helicopter crash near San Andreas in Calaveras County, CA, on the morning of Monday, July 20, 2020. The aviation accident occurred near Toll Bridge Road and Highway 12 around 10:00 a.m. A helicopter contracted with PG&E was performing work in the area when the pilot made an emergency landing. The pilot and two electric servicemen were able to exit the aircraft before it caught fire, according to PG&E. The three parties were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor. An investigation is underway by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for details leading up to the aircraft accident. Filing a Personal Injury Claim for a Helicopter Crash

When you have been injured after an aircraft accident in Sacramento or elsewhere in Northern California, you may have questions on what you should do next. You may be wondering how your medical treatment and expenses will be paid, especially if you are missing time at work to recover from your injuries. This is one of the many questions that helicopter crash victims face. While nothing may undo the pain an aviation accident has caused, damages from a personal injury claim may help compensate you for the financial and intangible harms you have experienced. When you bring a case, you have the legal right to seek monetary compensation for economic and non-economic damages. These include medical expenses, lost wages, loss of consortium, lost enjoyment of life, and pain and suffering. Losses in the future may also be recovered so long as it can be proven through evidence and expert testimony.

How to Bring a Personal Injury Lawsuit for an Aviation Accident

For recovery of personal injury damages, an independent investigation into the cause of an aviation accident is necessary. These must be conducted as soon as possible following the injury incident. As a plaintiff, it is your duty to prove causation and negligence on the part of the at-fault party or entity, and an investigation can help provide critical evidence that is useful to establish the validity and value of your injury case. However, investigating an aircraft collision can be challenging on your own, particularly if you have suffered serious injuries. This is where the assistance of an experienced California helicopter crash lawyer can prove invaluable. An attorney who is experienced in handling helicopter crash cases like yours can help by:

  • Collecting and preserving wreckage from the aviation accident
  • Gathering repair and maintenance records of the helicopter, history of communication between the pilot and others, flight logs, and more
  • Investigating the make and model of the helicopter to see if any parts of the aircraft have been subject to a recent recall for safety defects
  • Speaking to forensic experts, aviation accident reconstruction experts, and key witnesses
  • Ordering, organizing, and presenting medical records and expenses and lost earnings to establish economic damages
  • Valuing other losses you have suffered as a result of an aircraft collision, including pain and suffering
  • Ensuring that all criteria and deadlines applicable to your personal injury lawsuit are followed
  • Negotiating with insurance claims adjusters or defense attorneys involved in the personal injury claims process
  • Handle litigation on your behalf if your personal injury accident case is taken to court
