Three Hurt in Fairfield Car Crash
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, a Fairfield car crash left three people with injuries. Fairfield Police Department (FPD) officials stated that the crash involved three vehicles and happened during the afternoon near Travis Air Force Base. According to reports, all three injured individuals were hospitalized following the accident, one for treatment of critical injuries. Updates on the injured parties have not been reported so far. Additionally, FPD is actively investigating the incident.
Crash Information
According to FPD, the accident happened at the intersection of Canon and North Gate Roads. A man had been driving a red Ford pickup truck southbound on North Gate heading toward Travis Air Force Base. Police reports indicated that the driver failed to stop at the Canon Road intersection and collided head-on with a landscaping truck that had been performing a left-hand turn. The Ford continued south for a short distance before striking a third truck and eventually running off the road.
Emergency staff from Travis Air Force Base were the first responders on-scene and reportedly found all three drivers with injuries. The driver of the landscaping truck was placed on an ambulance and rushed to the Kaiser hospital in Vacaville for treatment of critical trauma. The other two drivers were both taken to the David Grant Medical Center, one with apparent back and neck injuries.
Critical Injuries
Being critically injured in a car accident often drastically affects your life. Crash survivors frequently face a difficult road to recovery that involves multiple medical procedures, including surgeries, extensive physical therapy, and long-term medication use. On top of this, suffering a critical injury often leaves people with mobility issues, meaning that they may need to make modifications to their home in order to be able to easily get around. Furthermore, all of this can be very mentally taxing, and crash survivors commonly suffer from issues related to depression and anxiety because of their situation.
Because of these issues, crash survivors and their families are often left wondering how they will be able to move forward with their lives after such a traumatic event. Thankfully, survivors can get help by filing a personal injury claim and holding responsible parties and/or insurers financially liable for the losses they’ve suffered. However, injury cases can be complicated and, depending on the severity of the injury, responsible parties often put up a fight in order to disclaim their liability. This is why it’s vital to get in touch with a Fairfield personal injury lawyer who can protect you and your family’s right to obtain compensation. An experienced attorney will be able to investigate your accident, negotiate with insurers, and, if necessary, argue your case in court to make sure that you receive full compensation for medical expenses, lost income, personal suffering, and all the other losses you’ve suffered.
