Three Missing Following Leggett Area Auto Accident
A juvenile, woman, and 3-year-old are missing after being involved in a Leggett area auto accident that occurred on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Authorities have identified the missing woman as 34-year-old McKinleyville resident Trinity Bray and stated that the 3-year-old is her son. The collision reportedly left at least one individual with major injuries and happened on Highway 101, and involved one vehicle. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), all three were still missing as of 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Crash Information
The collision occurred at around 11:50 a.m. CHP reports that the missing woman was an occupant of a 2011 Toyota Sienna that had been driving northbound on 101 heading toward Confusion Hill. For reasons that are still being investigated, the Toyota drove off the eastern highway edge and crashed into a nearby tree.
Police were contacted regarding the accident at noon and arrived at the scene at approximately 12:18 p.m. Responders reaching the crash scene discovered one individual inside of the vehicle, who had been seriously injured. The injured man was driven by ambulance to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. Updates on his health condition remained unavailable at the time of reporting.
Missing Individuals
CHP was first notified about the missing individuals by friends and family of Bray who reported that she had not made contact since the accident occurred. Reportedly, Bray, her child, and the fourth vehicle occupant all voluntarily left the vehicle after the collision occurred in order to seek help. The three were last seen walking northbound on the side of 101 and, according to witnesses, did not appear to have suffered major injuries.
Officers conducted a search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the missing individuals. Over the past few days, CHP and other local agencies have conducted coordinated foot and air search operations in order to locate Bray and her child but have been unable to find them.
Anybody with information about the location of these individuals is urged to call CHP to assist with the investigation. Callers should use the number (707) 923-2155.
