Details on the Truck Accident on SR-120 in Manteca

What to Expect From a Big Rig Crash Case

A crash between a passenger vehicle and a big rig tends to be devastating due to the overwhelming size, weight, and momentum of a semi-truck. Common injuries include head trauma, bone fractures, spinal cord injuries, and more. When a semi-truck collision occurs due to the negligence of a trucker or trucking company, an injured party may seek compensation through a bodily injury claim with the insurance carrier or a lawsuit. A case must be filed in court no later than two years from the date of loss to protect the statute. Not doing so may cause the claimant to lose the right to seek damages.

A claimant should not accept the first settlement offer from the insurance carrier as these amounts are typically not enough to cover the many medical costs and other expenses associated with injuries sustained in an 18-wheeler wreck. Insurance companies know this all too well and often attempt to take advantage of injured parties that do not have legal counsel on their side. That is why it is recommended to have an experienced injury attorney on your side after a big rig crash. Learn how our legal team at AutoAccident.com can help by watching this video.

Importance of Working With a Lawyer on a Commercial Truck Accident Case

Retaining legal counsel is essential when seeking the recovery of economic and non-economic damages following an accident with a large commercial truck. An injured party cannot risk the financial compensation they need and deserve because they do not hire an experienced attorney. A lawyer will handle various aspects of a big rig crash case. They will investigate the 18-wheeler collision, gather evidence, and build a strong case to present in insurance negotiations. Above all, an attorney will be a great ally when dealing with difficult insurance carriers and defense counsel.

Selecting the right attorney can either make or break a case for a commercial truck accident. When in search of a California personal injury lawyer, it is essential to work with a lawyer that will have the resources, skills, and knowledge to effectively handle your case and secure a favorable resolution on your behalf. Equally important is choosing an attorney that focuses on personal injury law exclusively, as they will know the best way to proceed when addressing any potential challenges that may arise. A lawyer should have experience negotiating with difficult insurers and taking cases to court if necessary.
