Trucking Industry Advances With Uber Freight

The rideshare company, Uber, has been recently recognized on its latest edition to its provided services. The company now offers Uber Freight, a free app on mobile devices that connects carriers with shippers. The app offers simplicity and high quality service to support their drivers and carriers.

What is Uber Freight?

Uber Freight is the latest innovation in the trucking industry. The service is powered by their free app in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Carriers may use the app to book a load with a single press of a button and receive the stated payment amount. The app goes into detail on how loads are paid. All of the loads through Uber Freight are under an exclusive contract with shippers.

Common Causes of Trucking Accidents and Truck Driver Negligence

There are many good truck drivers. However, some are not. The same is true for motorists driving passenger vehicles. Truck driver negligence can be a cause of accidents. The list below is not exhaustive, but it gives an idea of some of the situations that can result in catastrophic injuries due to truck driver negligence:

  • Inadequately trained and/or licensed truck drivers
  • Improperly balanced load
  • Truck driver drug use
  • Truck driver fatigue – driving too many hours
  • Poor maintenance of commercial trucks
