Two Injured in Box Truck Crash on Byron Highway

Details on the Box Truck Crash on Byron Highway That Left Two Injured

A preliminary report by CHP traffic officers revealed that a box truck allegedly veered off the roadway, crashed into a ditch, and was engulfed in flames. One lost tire from the truck was said to have caused a fire in the grass surrounding the scene. This resulted in a vegetation fire that grew to approximately half to one acre.

Fortunately, the two occupants of the box truck were able to escape the vehicle and suffered injuries described as minor. Additional information on the incident was not immediately available.

What You Should Know About Commercial Truck Accidents

A significant part of the economy in California and throughout the United States is the trucking industry. Because of our dependence on trucks for delivering goods, the number of commercial trucks on the road increases each year. However, there are significant differences between a passenger vehicle and a large commercial truck that must be kept in mind. This is especially true if you were injured in a crash involving a box truck. For instance, trucks are overwhelming in size and weight compared to other cars on the road. This may play a factor in the severity of injuries suffered in the incident.

Like other types of motor vehicle accidents, box truck crashes may have causes that may not be obvious at first. Some of the most common reasons for truck collisions in Contra Costa County may include distracted driving, DUI, fatigued driving, speeding, defective truck equipment and parts, unsafe loads, failure to inspect truck driver records, and more. Several entities may also be held liable for a truck accident.

Personal injury claims for truck accidents are often more challenging to handle. For this reason, it is essential to consult with an experienced injury lawyer right away. Unlike the insurance company, your attorney will have your best interest at heart and help you obtain the justice and fair compensation you and your family rightfully deserve. Importance of Contacting an Attorney After a Commercial Truck Accident

Getting into an accident with a box truck may be particularly overwhelming, especially if you have suffered injuries. However, it is crucial to understand that the steps you take in the days, weeks, and months following your crash may impact your financial recovery in the claims process. When you have been recently involved in a crash, see a physician right away if you were not taken to the hospital. Follow all orders from your doctor, gather and preserve all evidence related to the incident, and reach out to an experienced attorney.

The reason why it is of utmost importance to discuss your case with a lawyer is that the insurance company representing the other party may be looking for ways of downplaying your claim or outright denying it. When facing mounting medical bills and income lost from missing work, this should be the least of your worries. A Brentwood personal injury attorney who is experienced in handling truck accident cases like yours will help you determine who was at fault for your accident and locate evidence to back up your claim for damages.
