Two Parties Suffer Major Injuries in Modesto Head-On Collision

What Happened?
A black Honda Del Sol coupe was traveling southbound along Paradise Road in the vicinity of California Avenue at approximately 2:30 pm. At the same time, a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser sedan was traveling northbound along Paradise Avenue. For unknown reasons, the Honda veered into the northbound lane of travel and collided head-on with the Chrysler. The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to sustain serious body damage.
Nature of Injuries
Emergency crews were called to the area of the auto accident. The drivers of both involved vehicles were unable to exit their vehicle on their own due to the extensive amount of damage sustained. Firefighters were able to safely extricate both motorists and conduct an injury evaluation on each party. Both parties suffered major injuries and were transported to area hospitals for injury treatment. One of the parties had to be airlifted due to the severere nature of their injuries.
Auto Accident Under Investigation
The cause of the auto accident remains unknown. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is conducting an investigation. A Traffic Collision Report is usually processed within two weeks from the date of the accident. Sometimes the report is in error pertaining to fault for a crash.
