Two Injured During Auto Accident in Redding
On Sunday, August 9, 2020, an auto accident in Redding left two people with injuries, one requiring treatment at a local hospital. The injured individuals were identified as two men, aged 38 and 44, both Redding residents. Both men were reportedly expected to recover from their injuries, and the cause of this accident is under investigation by officers of the Redding Police Department (RPD).
Crash Details
According to reports from RPD, the crash occurred just after 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of School Street and Hartnell Avenue in front of Redding Fire Department Station Five. The 38-year-old man was driving his Nissan Sentra heading north on School when, according to RPD, he lost control of his vehicle. The Nissan subsequently left the road and collided head-on with a nearby utility pole, causing cable lines to come down onto Hartnell Avenue.
Because the accident happened right outside of a fire station, responders arrived at the scene very quickly. Responding officials discovered that both individuals in the Nissan were injured and had the passenger driven to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation for further injuries. Specific details about the trauma suffered during the accident were not reported.
Investigation
The roadway was closed while workers removed the dangerous cables from Hartnell, and investigators searched the scene for evidence. Police say that the vehicle passenger and driver were wearing seatbelts and that the vehicle’s airbags were deployed successfully during the incident. RPD also indicated that they do not suspect driver intoxication to have been a part of the accident.
Single-vehicle auto accidents happen often and are commonly caused by non-driver factors like defective car parts or dangerous road issues. With accidents involving non-driver factors, parties such as vehicle manufacturers or governments responsible for roads may be considered negligent parties to the crash.
Collision Injuries
Being injured in a car accident can be severe. Many people who suffer car accident injuries face a long and challenging road to recovering their health and may need extensive medical care. This care often includes long-term physical therapy, medications, and other expensive procedures. These can be difficult to pay for, especially if your trauma has affected your ability to do your job and earn an income.
Many people injured during car accidents worry about how they can afford to pay for the care they need and move on with their lives. Fortunately, obtaining payments for your losses is often possible by filing a personal injury claim.
However, injury cases can be complex, and responsible parties often attempt to disclaim responsibility for the accident. The best way to make sure you can claim the compensation that you deserve is to reach out to a skilled Redding personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.
