Injury Accident on U.S. 50 Results in Injury

A two-vehicle collision in Sacramento when one car spun out caused injuries on December 13. The crash happened along eastbound U.S. 50 under the Watt Avenue southbound entrance ramp around 11:34 a.m. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were flagged down at the scene, which involved a Chevy Suburban and a Honda CRV.

Two-Vehicle Collision May Have Been Caused by a Spin Out

It is believed that one of the vehicles involved spun out, crashed into the center divider and struck the other vehicle while out of control. Sacramento Fire Department first responders arrived to assess injuries, and at least one person was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with undescribed trauma. One of the vehicles sustained a broken rear axle in the crash and had to be hauled away by a tow truck. Police investigators are working to determine what caused the two-vehicle collision and place fault.

A Spin Out Can Result in Serious Injuries

Spin outs are usually caused when a rotational skid occurs because a driver has lost control of their vehicle. When weather conditions are involved, it happens because the tires cannot scatter the water and lose traction. This results in the inability of the driver to brake and steer. Most causes of a spinout include negligence of some type. Some of the causes of a spinout include:

Investigating an Accident That Includes Spin Outs

Knowing what caused an accident is necessary for an injured person to get compensation, which can cover the cost of their medical expenses, their pain and suffering, and wages they lost from being unable to work. Our investigators are highly experienced in finding the evidence necessary to support that claim. Among the areas they search for evidence are:

  • The vehicle is examined to determine if a defective auto part caused the two-vehicle accident.
  • The police report is checked for mistakes and witnesses are interviewed.
  • Forensic reconstruction of the accident is performed.
  • Traffic and road surveillance cameras are checked to see if the accident was captured on tape.
  • Possible government negligence is checked, which could include low-lying areas in the road where water and debris accumulate.

Once the evidence has been compiled, our injury attorneys take over by using the accumulated evidence to construct a case that benefits our client. This information can be used when negotiating with the insurance company on the client’s behalf or in court if it becomes necessary. In this way, our client can concentrate on recovering from their injury without financial worries.
