Violent Collision on 24th Street Occurs During the Night
A two-vehicle crash in Sacramento on April 23 sent at least one person to the hospital. The collision was reported by the Sacramento Police Department as occurring around 11:40 p.m. at 24th Street and Casa Linda Drive near Steve Jones Park. When police and fire department crews arrived, they discovered a gold-colored sedan facing in the wrong direction in 24th Street’s southbound lanes.
Both Vehicles Reported as Severely Damaged
The vehicle had sustained major damage in its front end, and the windshield was shattered during the two-vehicle crash. It appeared as though the vehicle had also crashed into a nearby brick wall. Significant debris was found all over the sidewalk and road.
Second Vehicle Discovered Around the Corner
The second vehicle was discovered at the curb of Casa Linda Drive westbound. That vehicle had sustained major damage to its rear end. Paramedics transported the injured person who had been in the gold vehicle to the hospital. Injuries were reportedly minor to moderate.
Officers Investigating Two-Vehicle Crash to Assign Fault
Following the two-vehicle crash, traffic on southbound 24th Street was diverted to Casa Linda Drive. Officers with the Sacramento Police are investigating how the accident occurred. Fault will be assigned once the investigation is completed.
