I’m Ed Smith, a Berkeley car accident lawyer. Berkeley is a beautiful city with diverse cultural practices, making it a hot spot for tourist and residential activity alike. This event is presented to you by Hana Holistic, and they are more than excited to announce Mr. Xin Huang as their Tai Chi instructor. Mr. Huang has been practicing the Chen style of Tai Chi for 20 years and has influenced many of his students along the way. The Chen style is distinctly known for its alternation between slow and fast motion movements, as well as using bursts of energy called “silk reeling.” All students will be taught a standard routine of basic steps that can be practiced anytime and anywhere. Come experience the health benefits of Tai Chi, and you may even begin to notice how it can improve the flow of your everyday life.

Attendants will extensively explore the fundamentals of Japanese calligraphy in this two hour workshop. Hands-on experience with the writing techniques will help everyone discover the internal balance that is found through the meditative process of calligraphy. The class will start with a brief and comprehensive lecture about the Japanese writing system to learn the basic information necessary for calligraphy. Participants will then choose between two different script styles on selected Japanese kanji characters. Once they have chosen their style preference, attendees will practice creating calligraphy artwork on hanshi-sized paper. All workshop supplies and material will be provided.
