South Lake Tahoe is debatably the most beautiful place to visit in California during winter. There are very few places in California that could expect to see any snowfall in winter – but Tahoe happens to be one of the exceptions! South Lake Tahoe is known for being a hot spot for tourists, which is not shocking considering the number of outdoor winter activities available. People come from all over the world to visit Tahoe for skiing and snowboarding. Additionally, Tahoe is home to one of the country’s biggest music festivals: SnowGlobe. There are many options to choose from, but below are some events at South Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Village that may help narrow down your search.
Tahoe Santa Crawl
Date: Saturday, December 22, 2018
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: 1001 Heavenly Village Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
Admission: $10 tickets
Come be a part of history by participating in the first annual Tahoe Santa Crawl at Heavenly Village. Registration will take place the day of, right outside of Basecamp Pizza. Admission will be $10 per wristband. Attendants can expect a night filled with live music, food & drink specials at all participating Village restaurants and bars, and free entry into the Nightmare Before Christmas-themed party at Opal Nightclub.
Heavenly Holidays Carnival
Date: Wednesday, December 26 – Monday, December 31, 2018
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: 1001 Heavenly Village Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
Admission: $4 – $5 fee
This year’s carnival features two exciting, kid-friendly rides: The Heavenly Express and the Tahoe South Ferris Wheel. The heavenly express will be located at the base of the gondola near Highway 50. There will be two trains running throughout the afternoon and evening, and both trains will be making stops for passengers to enjoy cookies and hot cocoa. The Ferris wheel will be located close to the heavenly express, just west of the gigantic Christmas Tree. During the day, riders will experience stunning views of the lake. At nighttime, the Ferris wheel will capture the unparalleled beauty of the village twinkling with lights.
