Vacaville Crash Injures Seven
A crash in Vacaville injured seven occupants on the morning of Friday, October 14, 2016. Thankfully, there were no life-threatening injuries in the accident.
What Happened?
A woman was behind the wheel of her Volkswagen Jetta traveling eastbound on Alamo Road. The woman driving the Volkswagen passed the intersection of Alamo Road and Peabody Road when she was struck by a Honda CRV at approximately 8:10 a.m. Several local residents stopped to assist the injured occupants in the vehicles until authorities and medical personnel arrived at the scene. The accident caused the eastbound lanes of Alamo Road near the crash to be shut down for about an hour.
What Caused the Accident?
It was reported that the Honda CRV turned from Peabody Road against a red light. The following reason may have been a factor in the automobile collision. However, Mark Donaldson, a 21-year veteran Lieutenant of the Vacaville Police Department, ruled out rainy weather as a factor in the collision.
What Types of Injuries?
Two children in the Volkswagen Jetta were ages 1 and 9, along with the 35-year-old female motorist. The driver of the Honda CRV was a 36-year-old woman driving with her three children, ages 5, 7, and 6 months. All of the occupants in both vehicles were transported to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
