Stockton Man Dies in Vacaville Truck Collision on I-80

A tragic Vacaville truck collision occurred on I-80 near Leisure Town Road on April 22, resulting in the death of a Stockton man, 58. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the man was in a Mazda that was stopped and blocked a highway lane when it was struck by an 18-wheeler.  Authorities have not yet released the name of the Mazda driver.

Vacaville Truck Collision Under Investigation

The collision remains under investigation by CHP traffic accident detectives as officials work to determine why the Mazda was stationary on the roadway at the time of the incident. The semi-truck driver, a Pacifica man, age 59, stayed at the scene following the crash and was cooperating with law enforcement, according to the CHP.
