Vallejo Community Events – December 2018
Vallejo has a long and interesting history. As a former trading post and military base, it has served as the capital of California twice. Currently, it is the gateway for residents of the North Bay and Sacramento Valley to access the metropolitan Bay Area. However, residents know that the community of Vallejo is one of the most unique and exciting atmospheres in Northern California. Vallejo has a robust community that hosts many exciting events throughout the year. Those looking for something fun to do by themselves or with family over the coming weeks can read the below blog to find out about exciting upcoming Vallejo community events.
Coal Shed Holiday Bazaar
Come and visit the new Coal Shed Art Studios location on Mare Island and see what local artists have been working on. The Coal Shed Art Studios is a long-time Vallejo community arts group that offers local artists an affordable, unique place to do what they love. Those attending the Holiday Bazaar are not only able to look at individual pieces by local artists but can choose from a variety of hand-made art pieces to give to their loved ones as holiday gifts.
The event takes place throughout the weekends of December 8-9 and 15-16 on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Attendance is free, and directions to the studios can be found at this webpage.
Breakfast with Santa
Vallejo community members are invited to come and enjoy a delicious morning meal with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and their elves at the annual Greater Vallejo Recreation District’s Breakfast with Santa event. Children of all ages can come to make Christmas crafts and take their picture with Santa. Children younger than 9 years old will receive their own gift from Santa himself.
Breakfast will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event costs 10 dollars per person and children under two years old are free. The event is expected to sell out in advance, so pre-registration is recommended. You can register on this website.
Live Music at The Mare Island Brewing Taproom
Vallejo’s own Mare Island Brewing Company makes specialty craft beers locally and serves them at a beautiful taproom located right on Vallejo’s gorgeous waterfront. Residents of Vallejo are invited to come down to the taproom to sample an ever-growing variety of local beers and listen to music performed live by talented area musicians. This event happens every Saturday and begins at 7:00 p.m. with music going until 9:00 p.m.
