Vallejo Man Identified After Benicia Motorcycle Accident
Officials from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office have released the identity of a local man who lost his life in a recent motorcycle accident. The man was identified as Scott Glenn, a 31-year-old resident of Vallejo. The crash happened on Monday, March 18 just outside of Vallejo in the adjacent city of Benicia. The accident involved only one vehicle, and no other people were involved. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials say that they are still investigating the crash to determine what may have caused it. I’d like to send my condolences out to Mr. Glenn’s loved ones while they are enduring this difficult time.
Crash Details
According to police reports, the crash happened on the westbound side of Highway I-780. Glenn had just entered the highway from the off-ramp on northbound Highway 680. For unknown reasons, Glenn’s motorcycle drifted to the left and struck the center median guardrail of the highway at around 1:25 p.m. A driver called and reported the crash shortly after it took place.
After receiving the call, CHP dispatched a team of emergency responders to the accident site. When officers arrived, they found that Glenn had suffered severe trauma during the crash. Tragically, medics could not revive him, and he was declared deceased before he could be placed on an ambulance.
Investigation
The highway was shut down for about two hours while officers investigated the area. CHP reports have stated that Glenn may have been seen driving his motorcycle erratically just before the crash. However, investigators have not mentioned any suspected causes related to the accident. Motorcycle accidents can happen quickly and often cause major trauma.
