Vehicle Collision Near Tracy
I’m Ed Smith, a Tracy car accident lawyer. A two-vehicle collision occurred in Tracy during the afternoon of Saturday, July 15, 2017. The identities of the accident victims have not yet been released and an investigation remains ongoing as to the cause.
What Happened?
Authorities were dispatched to the scene of an automobile accident along Patterson Pass Road in the vicinity of Midway Road at approximately 2:35 pm. When officials arrived, they discovered a black sports vehicle and another car. The collision was termed as a possible head-on accident, however, investigators did not release details whether the collision was a result of wrong-way driving.
Was Anyone Injured?
Medical personnel immediately responded to the scene to render aid to the victims. Upon medical examination, paramedics confirmed that the victims suffered minor injuries.
What Caused the Collision?
Authorities have not yet determined an exact cause of the collision. Usually, Traffic Collision Reports take one to two weeks to be processed. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to extricate one person out of one of the involved vehicles. It was reported that four individuals were transported to a hospital for injuries that were described as major to minor.

A wrong-way automobile accident is when a driver allows their vehicle to travel along the opposing lane of travel, which could result in a serious collision. Usually, these accidents are caused by factors such as drunk driving, distracted driving and insufficient warning signs. Although wrong-way accidents only account as 3% of all motor vehicle collisions, they resulted in fatalities 22% of the time.
