Rollover Accidents
A rollover crash is one of the worst kind of accidents. They account for approximately 3% of the most serious crashes, yet they make up for approximately 30% of the fatalities in passenger vehicles.
Crashworthiness is the ability a vehicle has to protect the occupants inside in the event of an unexpected impact. The criteria that is used during crashworthiness testing depends on many factors including the nature of the crash and the type of motor vehicle involved. Crash testing aims to reduce the number of instances of fatal and serious injuries such as accidents like the Wilton fatal rollover crash.
Could faulty design be a factor in this Wilton Fatal Rollover Crash?
Rollover accidents don’t not need to be so fatal. Advances have been made to improve car and truck design. But sometimes, manufacturers fail to make simple improvements that could cut fatalities nearly in half. These improvements are relatively inexpensive for the manufacturer to make.
