Wine Tanker Involved in Traumatic Napa Crash

Multiple people suffered injuries during a traumatic Napa crash that occurred on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that this auto accident happened in the morning in a rural area of Napa County and ultimately left three people with injuries, one of whom was severely hurt. An investigation into this accident is ongoing.

Crash Information

CHP stated that the truck accident happened at around 7:45 a.m. on Silverado Trail near the intersection located at Rosedale Road just north of the small community of Calistoga in northern Napa County. Specific information about the events that took place just before the crash hasn’t yet been reported. However, police stated that an empty wine tanker crashed into a Toyota Camry. Pictures taken of the crash scene show extreme damage to the front end of the smaller vehicle.

Response

After the accident occurred, CHP dispatched an emergency response team to the area. When responders arrived, they found that three individuals had sustained injuries. Whether the injured individuals were occupants of the Toyota or big-rig was not reported. According to CHP traffic reports, a helicopter ambulance was called in to the site of the crash in order to fly one individual to a hospital for emergency treatments. Updates on the condition of the severely injured party have not been made available.

Investigation

CHP has stated that their officers are currently investigating this collision with the goal of determining what causal factors were involved. As they continue to look into the crash, officers have not stated whether or not any particular factors are suspected. Furthermore, truck accidents can be caused by more than one factor, and collision factors are frequently things that neither truckers nor drivers have control over. Non-driver collision causes can include defective truck or car products as well as dangerous roads, and more.

Truck Accidents and Quick Action

Big-rigs are much larger than other vehicles on the road and, for this reason, present a major risk to drivers. Collisions involving these massive trucks are much more likely to cause a serious or even fatal injury, and trucking companies know this. Because running their business always comes with the risk of serious accidents, trucking companies are usually prepared to take action right away after a collision takes place. Often, they will even employ their own legal response team, sending them to the accident site to conduct private investigations.

These things can make it hard for injured parties to obtain the compensation they deserve. In order to make sure that trucking companies don’t disclaim financial responsibility, it is best to contact an accident lawyer right away. If your attorney is able to start working on your case immediately, they’ll be more able to help your family make sure trucking companies pay their fair share of damages.
