Woman Arrested After Hit and Run in Fresno County
A Firebaugh woman was arrested after a fatal hit and run accident near Minkler in Fresno County, CA, on the early morning of Sunday, June 28, 2020. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on eastbound Highway 180 just east of Piedra Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A 32-year-old Firebaugh woman was driving a 2000 Toyota eastbound on CA-180 when she reportedly struck and killed a pedestrian. The driver of the Toyota allegedly fled the scene and was stopped a short time after by a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy. She was arrested by CHP officers on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and hit and run. The victim who was killed in the hit and run pedestrian accident was identified as 42-year-old Heather Martinez of Fresno. Further details about the fatal accident were not immediately available as an investigation into the collision is ongoing.
