Woman Killed in Lake Oroville Auto Accident On Stringtown Dock
Officials recently reported that a woman tragically lost her life in an auto accident that took place on Lake Oroville. According to California State Parks Public Information Officer Aaron Wright, the accident happened in the early evening on a boat-launching dock and involved a pedestrian and single vehicle. Officials of Butte County are currently withholding the identity of the decedent and investigation into causal factors is ongoing.
Accident Information
According to Wright, the incident took place at about 5:15 p.m. on the Stringtown car-top boat launch while two women were attempting to load kayaks onto a vehicle. According to reports, a vehicle reversed and backed up into one of the women. Further details about the incident have not yet been reported by officials.
Response
State park officials quickly called medical responders to the accident site. Tragically, upon arrival, responders discovered that the woman had suffered critical trauma and she was pronounced deceased on-scene. No other people were injured during this accident.
Investigation
As officials continue to investigate, police have indicated that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. Accidents such as this one can involve any of a wide number of causal factors and many are caused by more than one thing. Furthermore, fatal accident factors also often include things that none of the involved individuals can control like defective brakes or accelerators.
After a fatal accident, it is important that a full investigation is conducted in order to find out what caused it. However, police often have a difficult time investigating because the decedent cannot offer their version of events. For this reason, it’s important to have an attorney who can privately investigate the accident while prioritizing your family’s right to claiming compensation from at-fault parties.
Finding the Right Attorney
Families who’ve just suffered the loss of a loved one are typically under significant emotional stress and can feel completely overwhelmed. Because of this, many people are hesitant to get in touch with an attorney when they have no idea how to make sure they are talking to a compassionate lawyer who has the skills, experience, and resources to effectively handle their case. While it’s important to focus on taking care of yourself and your loved ones during this traumatic time, having a lawyer early on can be a critical factor in a wrongful death case.
Fortunately, families can easily find a trustworthy lawyer by looking for a few simple things.
