Yolo County Sheriff’s Office authorities have identified the decedent as 59-year-old Mark Anthony Thibault.
Crash Information
CHP reported that the accident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on the westbound side of Highway 16 to the west of Highway Interstate 505. A Woodland man was driving a 2007 Nissan west on Highway 16 near Esparto when his vehicle struck a pedestrian. Further details about the circumstances of the collision have not yet been made available.
Investigation
As CHP continues their investigation into what may have caused this tragic incident, no suspected factors have been reported. CHP did confirm that the involved driver was not placed under arrest at the accident scene.
When somebody dies during a car accident, investigators lose an important source of information about the events leading up to the crash. Because of this, it can be difficult for police and other groups to fully understand what caused the accident, meaning that key accident factors may go overlooked. In order to ensure that the accident is fully investigated, it’s important to reach out to a Woodland wrongful death lawyer who has experience conducting private accident investigations. A skilled attorney will be able to determine if any negligence was involved.
Calling a Lawyer
After suffering through the loss of a person you love, dealing with your daily life can seem almost impossible. The pain and exhaustion of grieving are very real, and most people who’ve experienced loss need to take time away from it all in order to process their feelings. However, fatal accidents can also be the cause of serious financial issues that can’t be overlooked. Furthermore, the parties responsible for the crash usually aren’t experiencing the same grief and will almost always quickly begin building a defense against liability. This is why it’s critical to call a lawyer as soon as you can.
Many people want to delay speaking to an attorney, especially after such a traumatic loss. However, the sooner your lawyer can get to work on your case, the better they can ensure you obtain the full amount of compensation that you deserve. Furthermore, knowing that a top-notch law firm is handling your case can relieve stress and allow you to focus on spending time with loved ones and healing emotionally.
